I hope you are all well.
I have an important update to share with you all regarding the upcoming school holidays and impending building works to the academy.
For over 10 year we have endured a multitude of ongoing building issue, especially the constant roof leakage. With the new owners taking over the building in late 2023, it’s commendable that they have taken steps to address the ongoing building issues, especially the persistent roof leakage. A comprehensive replacement of the roof, guttering and windows is indeed a significant undertaking, but it’s essential for the long-term well-being of the Academy.
The decision to close the academy during the Term 1 school holidays for the roof replacement is a prudent one. Coordinating such a substantial project while minimizing disruption to classes required careful planning. The two-and-a-half-week window provides the necessary time for the work to be completed effectively.
During the roof replacement closure period, the academy will be completely closed from Saturday 29th March and re-open on Monday 15th April. However, there’s good news! After that, beginning on April 15th we’ll be able to access the academy again. Adult & Kid’s classes will resume, albeit with a slightly reduced mat size due to the final installation of the roof windows.
In the meantime, to help maintain continuity, outdoor training classes will be held on Saturday April 6th and April 13th (weather permitting) at the closest local park to SHMA which is “Alma Park” on Alma Rd, East St Kilda. We will hold the training sessions opposite “Fitness First” on Alma Rd
These sessions will follow the same timetable as our regular Saturday classes.

If your unable to attend the Saturday outdoor classes and wish to suspend your membership until we re-open on Monday 15th April, please send an email to stuart@sixharmonies.com.au requesting a hold form so that your membership can be withheld during this period. I will then submit your request to our billing company PaySmart.
Remember its essential to communicate your preferences promptly so we can accommodate your needs.
We appreciate your understanding and patience during this necessary renovation. Once the roof renovation is complete, we’ll have improved facilities for everyone.
